The Extension Directorate aims to serve the general public through non-formal education and promotional activities todisseminate knowledge-based technical information and to transfer appropriate technologies. It is through extension that the university extends and shares to the general public its intellectual resources of ideas, information, research results generated, and technologies developed. This concern to share and extend gives priority to the rural agriculture and fisheries sector.
Extension program hold that the academic and research functions of the University are not done for their own sake, and excellence in the same and the products t shall be meaningless without these being deliberately shared and purposely utilized for the public good. Public support to the University must be returned not only to those who have access to its formal academic programs and technical research outputs but also equally to all the needy sectors. |
