CTE Balay ti Alumni is blessed and ready for use
…It all started with a prayerful preparation of a proposal…Now our Balay ti Alumni, particularly the Multi-Purpose Hall and the Alumni Office at the first floor were blessed last June 30, 2015, at 8:30 o’clock in the morning. Alumni representing the different batches, university and college administrators and officials, faculty, non-teaching personnel and students joined together in this spirit-filled endeavor. The blessing which was a significant part of the College Day Celebration was officiated by Fr. Walde Batoon, parish priest of St. William Cathedral.
After showering the whole area with holy water, the traditional throwing of coins and grains of rice was done to symbolize lucky, bountiful , joyous and blessed years of service. This was followed by savoring the sumptuous snacks served. The blessing rite was completed by the simple program which was moderated by Dr. Rosabel Acosta, alumni affairs coordinator. Dr. Ligaya T. Miguel, CTEAA president; Dr. Cecil P. Aribuabo, CTEAA vice president and Dr. Eliza T. Samson, dean, gave their messages. They thanked all alumni for joining hands together, especially those who have already given their donations, to come up with this noble project – a lasting legacy of their love, unity and loyalty to Alma Mater; and appealed to them to continue extending their support to finish it, particularly, the completion of the second floor. Moreover, Mr. Roberto Dolores, representing Class 1968, expressed support to complete the project and initiated an instant passing of the hat which accumulated Php 1410.00 from the participants.
The blessing rite was closed by a short but meaningful sitdown discussion with the University OIC president, Dr. Prima Fe R. Franco; Alumni Regent and FAAI President Bismark Angelo A. Quidang; and FAAI Vice President Leaonardo T. Pascua who arrived a little late because of equally important commitment. A check amounting to fifty thousand pesos (Php 50,000) was handed over by the OIC president as an additional fund for the construction. This amount is the share of the college in the Alumni ID Program of the university.
With this activity, the hope, motivation and inspiration to complete the project very soon was strengthened and intensified. This gave a lucky start for the use of Multi-Purpose Hall to generate funds with the Department of Pharmacy of the university for the Board Review from July to September.
